The Fenland Black Oak Project
Charity Branding
The Fenland Black Oak Project was established by a team of master craftspeople, following their incredible discovery of a perfectly preserved 5000 year old Black Oak.
We designed a brand identity to tell their story of how they transformed the oak into a spectacular 13 metre long table for public display, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of our ancient giant forests.
We created the strapline ‘A Table for the Nation’ and a compelling summary statement. The visual language was inspired by the tables’ unique aesthetic giving a contemporary and historic feel to the project.
The brand identity was expressed through a fundraising document, website, souvenir brochure and display panels.

We designed a fundraising document for prospective sponsors. The covers, with their laser-etched logos, were hand assembled from different pieces of 5000 year old Black Oak.

The website provides up-to-date information for visitors. It also shares the history of the project and highlights the importance of Black Oak.

A souvenir brochure was crafted to mark the unveiling of the table by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, at Ely Cathedral.

We also created a set of informative display panels to accompany the table as it visits different venues across the country.
